Welcome back to this blog's following of the evolution of Cold War England's civil war.
The game effectively began with turn 15 as turn 14 was played in-house at Cpl. A's abode.
On that last turn Scotland seceded from the England - with accessory allied plots by the other three players as to how to return it within English sovereignty - and issued its own batch of reinforcements be built in its factories and installations before the rest of England fell apart on turn 15.
News reports concerned, in particular
NORTHERN IRELAND - the NME government attempted to open negotiations with Catholic and Protestant paramilitary representatives as it retired its military presence from Belfast to protect against a US outbreak from the Northern Irish artillery base located there. This plunged the city and surrounding district into a humanitarian crisis as the factions exploded into armed open conflict and a "free people's compound" was established with requests for humanitarian aid from the other players as plans are developed on how to return the region to civil rule. The Irish Guards also defected from the English and began moving along the M1 to join the NME forces garrisoning the Midlands southern border.
SCOTLAND - The Scottish ally, France, was crippled by internal unrest as strikes broke out throughout the nation and fears arose this could delay the arrival of its promised reinforcements to aid the Scottish cause.
WALES - The US warned the world in typical American fashion that any attempt to clear a territory's sovereign land of its presence would be deemed an act of war against the US itself and its bases were sovereign US land
ENGLAND - the total closure and silence proffered by the Socialist Party during this turn echoed in the world's halls of power.....
